How Trump's 2025 Tax Bill affects estate planning

On July 3, 2025, the US House of Representatives passed President Trump's tax bill, dubbed the "One Big Beautiful Bill," extending Trump's 2017 tax cuts.  The bill makes the estate tax permanent and increases the estate tax exemption to $15 million per person or $30 million for married couples. The exemption will be indexed for inflation.
